Ledger Appoints Charles Guillemet as Chief Technology Officer
PARIS – December 5, 2019 – Ledger, the global leader in security and infrastructure solutions for digital assets and blockchain applications, today announced that Charles Guillemet has been appointed Chief Technology Officer. Guillemet will continue to oversee security operations at Ledger, bringing further integration to Ledger’s security and technology teams.
Guillemet joined Ledger in 2017 and founded the company’s renowned security department and security evaluation lab, The Ledger Donjon. During his time at Ledger, Guillemet has overseen security assessments for Ledger’s products, procured independent security certifications for both the Ledger Nano S and Ledger Nano X, and has built industry leading open source hardware and software security tools.
Beyond improving security internally at Ledger, Guillemet’s Donjon team has assessed the security of competitor devices, and responsibly disclosed vulnerabilities to contribute to raising the bar for security throughout the blockchain ecosystem. Guillemet’s team studies all aspects of security including physical attacks, software hacks, and side-channel attacks.
“Throughout my time at Ledger I have had the pleasure of leading a world class team of security researchers that has set the standard for blockchain security,” said Guillemet. “Security and technology go hand and hand at Ledger, so my appointment to CTO is a natural extension of the critical work we are doing everyday to improve the security of the products we build.”
“Charles has played a pivotal role in building Ledger into the security company it is today,” said Pascal Gauthier, CEO of Ledger. “We are proud to have the industry’s top security mind on our team and are confident that his appointment to CTO will further enhance Ledger’s security technology in an increasingly connected world where hackers are becoming more sophisticated”
Prior to joining Ledger, Guillemet was Technical Manager in a CEA-LETI ITSEF (common criteria accredited security evaluation laboratory) . Guillemet holds a Master of Science in Cryptography & Security at the Engineering School ENSIMAG, with a Major Cryptography and Security (Valedictorian), where he also served as a lecturer.
